Strongid® C 2X Pyrantel Tartrate
Keeping parasite levels under control helps horses perform at their best. Parasites steal nutrition, energy and good health from your equine patients. Left unchecked, parasites can cause damage to vital organs, impair growth and performance, and may increase risk of colic.
A daily dose of Strongid® C 2X — a Type C medicated feed — helps break the cycle of parasite infection. Strongid C 2X helps prevent Strongylus vulgaris larval infestations and control of adult large strongyles as well as adult and fourth-stage larvae (L4) of small strongyles, pinworms and ascarids.
Certain risk factors may call for daily deworming to help maintain health and peak performance:
- High-risk age groups, such as foals, weanlings and geriatric horses
- High stocking densities (more than two horses per acre)
- Non-rotated pastures
- Continuous parasite exposure
- Fecal egg count (FEC) of more than 200 eggs per gram
Indications
- For the prevention of Strongylus vulgaris larval infestation in horses
- For control of the following parasites in horses:
- Large strongyles (adults): S. vulgaris, S. edentatus
- Small strongyles (adults and fourth-stage larvae): Cyathostomum spp., Cylicocyclus spp., Cylicostephanus spp., Cylicodontophorus spp., Poteriostomum spp. and Triodontophorus spp.
- Pinworms (adults and fourth-stage larvae): Oxyuris equi
- Ascarids (adults and fourth-stage larvae): Parascaris equorum
